CI-TEAM Implementation Project-Cyberinfrastructure for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets

TeraGrid Strategy Session
In conjunction with the CERSER Distinguished Lecture Series, a group of individuals from throughout the U.S. met in a strategy session to map out a new project entitled The CI-TEAM Implementation Project-Cyberinfrastructure for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets. This project is being supported by the National Science Foundation and brings together the following partners:

Vision
To prepare the current and next generation of traditionally underrepresented minority scientists, engineers and educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct interdisciplinary research in areas including cyberinfrastructure, remote sensing, engineering and modeling related to glaciers and ice sheets.

Mission
To build and implement a cyberinfrastructure, which supports the virtual classroom and collaborative interdisciplinary environment for project-related outreach, education and science.

Goal
The primary goal of the proposed project is to create a virtual environment for the undergraduate and graduate students and to create CReSIS educational and research portals on the NSF TeraGRID.
