The National Science Foundation Division of Human Resource Development 2006 Joint Annual Meeting of the was held in Washington, DC on March 15-17. This meeting is a gathering of educators involved in attracting, mentoring, and educating students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Elizabeth City State University was represented by Dr. Linda Hayden, Director of the Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research. Dr. Hayden took part as part of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM) program. Her presentations were part of the NSF- Science and Technology Centers (STC) Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS) - Education and Outreach. She presented both oral and poster presentations on the CReSIS program. Also attending from ECSU was Dr. Ali Khan, Interim Dean of the School of Mathematics, Science and Technology.
