Panel Session Topics #3. What are the challenges, strategies, and outcomes for successfully engaging and retaining new communities?  How do you keep the community moving forward, maintaining momentum, sustaining community cohesion, and expanding its boundaries?

1. How to successfully engaging and retaining new communities:

Strategies:
Partnerships with minority professional organizations and minority serving institutions

Challenges:
*Identifying capabilities compatible with the goals of your CI-TEAM project.
*Identifying key personnel within the MSI or the appropriate minority professional organization.

Outcomes :
*Prepare current and future generations of scientists, engineers, and educators to use, support, deploy, develop, and design cyberinfrastructure; and
*Foster inclusion of diverse groups of people and organizations in science and engineering that participate in cyberinfrastructure activities.
