Representatives from Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) recently attended the Supercomputing 2007 Conference (SC07) in Reno, Nevada.
The SC07 conference included a technical program, tutorials, workshops, an exhibits area, an education program and many other activities. The conference included scientists, researchers, software developers, network engineers, policy makers, corporate managers, CIO’s and IT administrators from universities, industry and government from all over the world.
ECSU representatives included Dr. Linda Hayden, Director of the Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research, Mr. Anthony Adade, ECSU Chief Information Officer, Mrs. Sharonda Walton, IT Customer Service Manager, Bryce Carmichael and Unquiea Wade, Undergraduate Research Students, and Dr. Minjun Wang and Dr. Eric Akers,CERSER Research Faculty. Bryce Carmichael and Unquiea Wade were selected as student volunteers for SC07 to assist with the administration of the conference. Student volunteers the opportunity to see and discuss the latest high-performance networking and computer technology and meet leading researchers from around the world while contributing to the success of this annual event.
Dr. Hayden made two presentations during the conference entitled "Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets Educational Activities: Ice, Ice Baby" and "Cyberinfrastructure for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets". These two presentations can be found in PowerPoint format at the following addresses:
